Dade County Library

Welcome to the Dade County Library!

The Dade County Library had it's beginning in 1954 as a small collection of books housed in the basement of the Historic Dade County Courthouse. But on December 3, 1980, Ruth Rubenstein donated her 11-room home to the Greenfield branch of the Southwest Regional Library. Ruth also donated several thousand books from her personal collection to the library, which after 26 years had grown too large for the courthouse basement. The beautiful Rubenstein House was built in 1903 by Ruth Rubenstein's Uncle N. B. Nathan. Nathan sold the house to the Rubenstein family in 1906. The Rubenstein family occupied the home until Ruth donated it to the Dade County Library.

Today the Dade County Library, which is still housed in the beautiful Rubenstein House, has a collection of over 31,000 books, audio books, movies, and other items available for patrons to check out.
